I pause for a moment to see.
I close my eyes and stand still
breathing deeply; taking in.
I am trying to understand-
“What is it about the sea that draws me in?
Is it the salty wind?
Or is it the warm breeze?
Is it the thundering sound of the waves?
Or is it the tickling feeling in my feet which occurs because of waves?
Is it the appearance of stillness at the surface?
Or is it the life within?
Is the sea a metaphor of humane life?
Or is it one more DIVINE simile ?”
I open my eyes,
I feel relieved,
I look at my feet they are sparkly.
I look at the setting sun, its smiling.
And now I know-
“It’s the spirit of hard wok with a pleasant smile on the face,
It’s the wish to be happy even in the averse conditions,
It’s the desire to accomplish the task given by HIM,
It’s the yearning for balance and creating equality.
It’s the depth of the sea- to be and be, the way it is- Big, deep and serene.
Big, deep and serene.”
I dedicate this poem to my Lord..
